CLASSES AND INSTRUCTION
In Ancient times, belly dance was used in honoring the female essence of everything living. People would practice the folkloric dances from thier land and share it with people from different lands bringing the dance from town to town and country to country. There are many,many styles, genres and sub-genres of belly dance. A brief list of styles: Oriental, Egyptian Cabaret, Folkloric, Turkish Cabaret, Lebanese Cabaret, American Cabaret, American Tribal Style (ATS), Improvisational Tribal Style (ITS), Tribal Fusion, Gothic and There are fusion styles that combine even more styles of belly dance and other kinds of dance together.
Lily teaches:
- Basic belly dance, which includes muscle training and posture for the basic movements of bellydance such as hip circles, chest circles, figure-eights, hip-bumps, shimmys, and snake arms.
- Intermediate belly dance, which includes layering moves, combination moves, music, costuming, and creating basic choreography with belly dance.
- Basic tribal belly dance.
Rates:
Classes of 4 or more students are $13 to $15 each and are 1 and a half to 2 hours long. They are held at the Lotusfire studio in the upper mills building in Rollinsford, NH. You can book a class for yourself and your family/friends by calling me at 1(603)617-8094. I will need to check in with the studio owner on the exact times/hours you want, but in most cases you can pick and choose.Private lessons in my home studio (Rollinsford, NH) are $30 per hour. In the larger studio (Lotusfire Studio in Rollinsford, NH) Private lessons are $40 per hour (due to the cost of renting the space). Women and girls only.
Girls under the age of 18 are required to have a signed permission slip by their parents or Guardian.
